Hi. I’m Lisa Lisser.
I became a certified divorce coach because I wanted to help people heal their souls and find their voices.
Divorce is a difficult journey. The waters are rough. I’ve been there, and I know.
It doesn’t matter whether you initiated the process or you were blindsided, you are reeling with the changes that are going on in your life.
I’m here to help. I can be your guide on the side.

As your divorce coach, I work with you to mitigate conflict, help you find your voice, and communicate so you are heard.

After the divorce, when you are struggling with the demands of co-parenting.

According to the American Bar Association, divorce coaching is “a flexible goal oriented process designed to support, motivate and guide people going through divorce to help them make the best possible decisions for their future, based on their particular interests, needs and concerns.”
That’s a lot of language. What it means is that divorce coaching is flexible as it is based on your specific needs. It motivates you to make decisions and take actions that will lead to the best possible future. It is unique to you. There is no one size fits all when it comes to divorce coaching.
In fact, working with a divorce coach will help you feel supported and strengthened before, during and after the divorce process. You will establish a safe space to unload fears and concerns and explore new methods of communication where your voice will be heard. Through coaching you will unlock the freedom to envision a future you might never have dreamed of before.

Divorce coaches come from many different professional backgrounds. They may have legal, therapeutic or financial backgrounds, they may work in religious communities, and many have personal experience with divorce. It is a lifetime of experience that creates the qualities that make a great divorce coach.
My background is in law, non-profit leadership, Judaism and education. I support your spiritual and intellectual self, honoring your feelings and your concrete financial, custodial and parenting concerns.
Many effective divorce coaches have been certified and trained by the CDC College of Divorce Coaching and/or the Divorce Coaches Academy. There are additional certification organizations for specialized coaching. Certified divorce coaches have devoted their time and energy into learning techniques that are specific to divorce scenarios.
One thing you can be sure of, people who do this work share a commitment to change the experience of divorce so that it is less dehumanizing and painful. Divorce coaches walk the path with their clients so their clients feel empowered and effective. A client who works with a divorce coach is a more credible client for their attorney, a more reasonable litigant before a judge, and a more self-assured co-parent during the process and into the future.

The bottom line is that a divorce coach helps reduce the pain of divorce, shortens the time the divorce process can take, which ultimately saves time and money, and gives you the confidence you need to move into your future with positive energy.
